Samsung sells over 1mn Galaxy S24 Series units in Korea

Samsung Electronics’ AI-powered smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Series, achieved a remarkable milestone by topping 1 million units in Korean sales within 28 days of its launch.

According to the company on Wednesday, the latest phones in its flagship line that officially launched on January 31st, 2024, surpassed the 1 million sales mark as of February 27th. This is the quickest sales achievement for any Galaxy S Series, beating the previous record set by the Galaxy S8 Series that took 37 days to reach the same milestone in 2017. The Galaxy S24 Series even outpaced its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Series, by about three weeks.

The extraordinary success of the Galaxy S24 Series is attributed to the groundbreaking Galaxy AI and ‘Circle to Search’ features, which provide real-time translation and innovative search capabilities.

Samsung Electronics said that the younger demographic, particularly those in their teens and 20s, favor the ‘Generative Editing’ feature based on AI, allowing them to fill in parts of photos, remove objects, or relocate them.

By model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, equipped with an S Pen and a titanium frame, accounted for most of the sales, or around 55 percent of the total. The Galaxy S24 Plus has also seen increased sales compared to its predecessor.
