MediThinQ, the first South Korean healthcare startup nurtured by healthcare startup accelerator VentureBlick, inked an exclusive agreement to supply ‘SCOPEYE,’ its medical augmented reality (AR) wearable display, to global medical device company Medtronic.

VentureBlick successfully hosted the ‘VentureBlick Connect’ event on February 9th, 2024, at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, Germany that targeted participants from the European healthcare innovation ecosystem. The startup accelerator announced that its flagship startup, MediThinQ, secured an exclusive supply deal with Medtronic for SCOPEYE during the event.

According to VentureBlick, the agreement, which was finalized in January 2024, allows MediThinQ to exclusively supply SCOPEYE to medical professionals across the entire U.S. market. SCOPEYE is a cutting-edge AR wearable display that enables healthcare professionals to perform surgeries and procedures while viewing high-definition medical images connected to their existing video medical devices, without the need for separate software installation.

The product has already been exported to over 60 hospitals in 30 countries, including the United States and Japan.

VentureBlick, known for its commitment to fostering the healthcare startup ecosystem, is raising a new venture fund worth 20 billion won ($15 million). The fund, centered in Singapore, is geared towards global funding targets, with plans to invest in 50 startups.

The firm covers the entire spectrum of healthcare startup development, from identifying and nurturing early-stage medtech startups to connecting them with the industry and providing necessary investment.
