Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI), South Korea’s sole aircraft manufacturer, has joined hands with a German weapon manufacturer to make domestic combat jets stronger and more available across Europe.
KAI said on Monday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG, in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday, local time, on strengthening the performance of Korean-made aircraft.
Diehl Defence is a world-leading supplier of air-launched guided missile systems, such as infrared imaging system tail (IRIS-T) control missiles.
Under the agreement, the two entities will aim to meet the joint goal of integrating the IRIS-T missile into FA-50/T-50 and KF-21 Block II aircraft.
