South Korea’s LG Uplus Corp. is offering an instant delivery service that provides buyers of thrifty phone USIM cards a quick delivery service in collaboration with delivery platform Barogo Co.
According to the company on Wednesday, customers that buy USIM cards online can receive the chips at their desired location within 2 hours.
LG Uplus noted that users can then complete the mobile phone activation within 5 minutes using the self-opening service.
The instant delivery service is initially being offered by seven mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) providers, including INSCOBEE, and is set to expand to 12 providers by the end of February.
LG Uplus plans to broaden the service’s scope by extending it to its official online mall, Uplus.com, and the communication lifestyle platform Nerget.
The delivery coverage will also expand from the Seoul metropolitan area and major cities to other locations.
“We designed the instant delivery service to enhance the convenience of U+ Thrifty Mobile subscription and establish a practical symbiotic relationship with small and medium-sized businesses,” said a company official.
