LG participates in UNESCO’s AI ethics forum

South Korea’s LG Group demonstrated its commitment to artificial intelligence (AI) ethics alongside representatives from 194 UNESCO member countries. The company said on Tuesday that it participated in UNESCO’s Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence 2024 that was held in Slovenia over two days starting from February 5th, 2024. LG was the sole Korean company to participate in the forum, which is in its second edition and themed ‘Changing the Landscape of AI Governance.’

At the UNESCO AI Forum, Kim You-chul, head of Strategy Unit at LG AI Research, took to the stage and shared insights. Kim highlighted LG Group’s unique experience in establishing a risk management system for the lifecycle of AI systems, while also discussing AI ethics with representatives from global companies including Microsoft Corp. as well as member countries of international organizations.
