Crown Confectionery launches Jolly Pong Cup Cereal version

Crown Confectionery announced it is launching a new version of its snack, the ‘Pour and Enjoy Jolly Pong Marshmallow Cup,’ on Monday. The product is designed for easy and immediate consumption, and it will be available exclusively as a special edition in all Emart stores nationwide for two weeks starting from February 2nd, 2024, with a limited quantity of 80,000 units.

The cup cereal features a unique design, combining original Jolly Pong and marshmallows that are individually packaged and enclosed in a cup with an attached foldable spoon. With a pack of milk, consumers can instantly enjoy a complete cereal experience without the need for an additional bowl. Notably, this cup product is the first to include a paper spoon among cup packaging products.

This product design originated from the creative ideas of three new employees at Crown Confectionery. The concept of a cup cereal that makes pouring and consuming milk with Jolly Pong more convenient earned recognition at the KOREA STAR AWARDS 2023 and AsiaStar organized by the Asian Packaging Federation. The idea has now materialized into an officially released product after a year of research and development.

In a pioneering move within the domestic confectionery industry, Crown Confectionery crafted the cup using GreenShield paper, a recyclable material that decomposes within three months. The company also used eco-friendly flexographic printing with three types of ink certified for their low environmental impact. The inside of the lid features a user-friendly paper spoon that can be easily folded into shape without the need for adhesives.
