Online travel agency Trip.com said on Tuesday that the reservation rates of foreign tourists visiting South Korea during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday from February 9th to 12th, 2024, have increased by about 40 percent compared to a year ago.
Regionally, the top destinations contributing to this surge in reservations include Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States, while Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Daegu, and Incheon are among the most visited cities in Korea by foreign tourists.
Popular attractions for foreign tourists include theme parks such as LegoLand Korea Resort and Everland, both of which rank high on the list. Winter destinations such as Vivaldi Park and Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort, which offer scenic skiing experiences, also secured prominent positions on the list.
“We will continue to enhance Trip.com’s travel content for Korea on top of improving bundled packages including flights and hotels, as well as various types of travel packages for independent travelers,” Hong Jong-min, general manager of Trip.com in Korea, said.
