South Korea’s DB Group is buying back an entire stake in IT service provider FIS System at 94.9 billion won ($88.8 million) three years after it was forced to sell the business amid corporate restructuring.

DB Inc., the group’s holding entity, said Friday that it inked an agreement with local private equity firm BK A&Z Co. to purchase a 100 percent stake in FIS System at 94.9 billion won by exercising its call option. The group plans to complete the acquisition in mid-May.

DB Group, formerly Dongbu Group spun off its IT service unit in December 2014 and sold FIS System to BK A&Z in the following month as part of a group-wide restructuring effort.

The conglomerate upon having improved its financial health decided to buy back FIS System and utilize its IT capabilities on developing IT-based finance technology, said the group. DB Group’s business spans from financial services such as asset management and banking to insurance, metal processing, and IT service.

Separately, DB Insurance, the group’s non-life insurance unit, said Friday that Kim Jung-nam was elected to serve as its chief executive officer for the third consecutive term, making him the longest-serving CEO in the local insurance industry. Kim has been DB Insurance’s chief since 2010. The insurance firm last year delivered a record-high net profit of 622.0 billion won, which jumped 32.3 percent compared to a year earlier.
