Korean Air wins gold and bronze medals at wine contest in London

South Korea’s flag carrier Korean Air Lines Co. (KAL) said on Tuesday it has won gold and bronze medals at Cellars in the Sky 2017, the globally renowned contest for business and first class wines served in air.

KAL`s red wine “Haselgrove Catkin Shiraz 2014” for business class was awarded the gold prize in the best business class red segment, and the “Chateau Du Tertre 2007” for first class the bronze prize in the best first class red category.

Currently, KAL provides its passengers with a wide selection of wines amounting to 49 including 15 only for first class.

The Cellars in the Sky is an annual wine contest for airlines hosted by the global travel magazine Business Traveller. The contest was first held in 1985, and airlines from all over the world entered wines for their business and first class passengers to win the competition. For the latest contest, almost 30 airlines including Air France, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and British Airways entered about 400 kinds of wines.
