South Korea’s KT Corp. said on Monday it showcased 5G network service with its partner Verizon and Samsung Electronics in live feed of U.S. largest sports event Super Bowl, the annual championship game of U.S. National Football League.
The two wireless companies connected their 5G networks respectively in Korea and the United States backed by Samsung’s equipments for the live stream of the Super Bowl game on Sunday.
They tested out omni-view app that tracks movement of players at a 3D virtual stadium.
KT, Verizon and Samsung Electronics have worked to standardize 5G wireless services and hardware that would back the internet and communications infrastructure during the Feb. 9-25 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
