South Korea`s flag carrier Korean Air Lines Co. (KAL) will implement a web-based cargo management system developed by India-based IBS Software Services that is expected to upgrade its air cargo service.

KAL said Tuesday that it signed an agreement with IBS Software, a leading IT solutions provider in the global aviation industry, to implement its cargo management system ‘iCargo’ on Monday.

iCargo, which allows its user to oversee all cargo service processes from taking online orders and managing tariffs in real time to tracking shipment, is used by 21 international airlines including Germany`s Lufthansa, Australia`s Qantas, and Japan`s ANA.

KAL plans to integrate iCargo with its current cargo management system by March next year after some additional upgrade works and test runs.

The company expects the introduction of iCargo would not only improve its internal cargo management process but also offer better cargo service to its customers.
