Global IT tycoons coming to PyeongChang Olympics for 5G showcase

Intel Chief Executive Brian Krzanich and China’s e-commerce giant founder and executive chairman Jack Ma are confirmed IT big-name guests to the PyeongChang Olympics that kicks off on Friday.

More may join them as invitations have gone out by Korean corporate sponsors.

On the list are China’s internet giant Baidu President Zhang Ya-Qin, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Huawei CEO Richard Yu.

Intel partners with Korea’s wireless carrier KT and Samsung Electronics in the world’s first 5G trial service in Pyeongchang Olympics.

The three companies hold a 5G experience event at a promotion hall of Gangneung Olympic Park in Gangneung.
