Korea’s LG Hausys named China’s top 10 green construction materials firms

LG Hausys, a construction materials making arm of South Korean conglomerate LG Group, made China’s top 10 green construction material brand list for the fifth year in a row.

LG Hausys said Sunday that it was named as one of the 10 most environmentally-friendly companies in China at the 15th ‘Brands Awards for Construction Suppliers’ event held in Beijing on Friday. The annual award, organized by association of construction companies in China, is one of the country’s top awards for construction companies. The winners are picked based on product quality reviews as well as customers’ recommendation.

It is the fifth straight year for the Korean construction materials supplier to make the top 10 list. In 2014, it made the list for the first time as a foreign company.

LG Hausys said that it was praised for its efforts to help Chinese construction market more eco-friendly. It has supplied various green products such as toxic-free flooring materials and mock marbles that help preventing germs from spreading. It is the only construction materials supplier in China that owns a system for analyzing volatile organic compound level or amount of vaporous chemicals, according to the company.

The company plans to continue introducing green products in China to help the country to lead more eco-friendly lifestyle, said Kim Sang-ho, head of LG Hausys’s China office.
