Korea’s Huons to double eye drop production capacity

It will be importing nine advanced facilities from Germany’s Rommelag, including BFS container system and foreign matter inspector in October, for the expansion..
Kosdaq-listed Huons shares closed Tuesday 7.2 percent higher at 99,400 won.
The capex investment aims to bump up both productivity and quality ahead of a further increase in sales both at home and abroad. With expansion, the company will have annual production capacity of 300 million tubes for eye drop products.
“The investment is a preemptive plan to fast respond to ever-growing eye drop markets, and the new facility will bring us a higher level of productivity and quality,” said a company official.
Huons is prepping to conduct a clinical trial of its new eye drop Clacier for the treatment of dry eye in China. After doubling its production capacity, the company plans to supply the product to Latin America and the Middle East.
