Yellow Mobile Inc., a South Korean mobile media company that owns one of the country’s major cryptocurrency exchange companies Coinone, will buy more than 35 percent stake in Kosdaq-listed wireless communication device developer Moda Inc. for 75 billion won ($70.5 million).

Moda said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday that it will issue 10,474,860 new shares that Yellow Mobile will purchase at 7,160 won apiece. Moda will list the newly issued shares on April 17, which would account for 35.94 percent of Moda’s total outstanding shares. The number of current outstanding shares of Moda stands at 19,086,234 shares.

After the stock purchase, Yellow Mobile will become the largest shareholder of Moda, replacing Daishin Asset Partners Co. whose share ownership will fall from 10.25 percent to 5.64 percent.

Daishin Asset Partners acquired Moda, a manufacturer of portable wireless communication device, in 2016. Moda later incorporated itemBay Co., a local online game trading services provider, and mobile application developer Niztelecom Inc. as affiliates. Recently, it announced plans to buy 1 billion won worth of new shares issued by Zest C&T Co. that is preparing to enter the booming virtual currency exchange business.

The upcoming acquisition of shares in Moda is expected to allow Yellow Mobile to expand its portfolio to include game item trading service. Yellow Mobile, which is seeking to make a debut on the Korean stock market, has also incorporated virtual currency exchange company Coinone as its affiliate last year.

Boosted by news on new investment, shares of Moda ended 5.24 percent or 450 won higher at 9,030 won on Tuesday.
