South Korean cosmetics manufacturer Able C&C Co. has opened two shops for its budget makeup brand Missha in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus where demand for Korean skin care products has been growing.

Able C&C said on Thursday that it opened each of two shops inside Dana Mall and Zamok Mall located in the center of the capital city in Belarus.

The company has decided to open its budget beauty product shop in Belarus after witnessing rising imports of Korean-made cosmetics in the country where its cosmetics industry is also burgeoning. It hopes the latest move will help it expand its presence in the eastern European country.

According to Korea International Trade Association, Belarus imported $138,000 worth of Korean cosmetics in the first 11 months of last year, almost quintupling from 2016. Currently, the cosmetics brand operates 3,300 retail outlets in 40 different countries including Belarus, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Russia in eastern Europe.

An unnamed official from Able C&C expected budget brand Missha would be highly sought by consumers in Belarus where per capita income isn’t that high.

The official also said that as Belarusian women are highly interested in anti-aging skin care products, the company plans to introduce Missha’s top lines such as Time Revolution and Super Aqua.

Shares of Able C&C closed Thursday down 2.32 percent at 16,850 won ($15.86).
