Samsung Electronics is expected to dispatch the newly appointed chiefs of its three mainstay divisions.

Kim Hyun-suk, head of the consumer electronics division, is to hold a press conference where he will showcase new concept TVs and a fleet of artificial intelligence-powered home appliances. Koh Dong-jin, chief of the IT and mobile unit, is expected to reveal Samsung’s smartphone business plans for 2018. Kim Ki-nam, president of the semiconductor business as head of the company’s device solutions division, would be attending the event to meet with key clients.

Samsung Display Co. CEO Lee Dong-hoon and Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co. CEO Lee Yun-tae would also be present.

Samsung’s rival LG Electronics is reportedly sending Vice Chairman Cho Sung-jin to the gathering along with Song Dae-hyun, head of the home appliances business, and Kwon Bong-suk, head of the home entertainment unit.

Lee Woo-jong, head of the vehicle components division, and Hwang Jung-hwan, chief of the mobile communications unit, plan to announce new products and hold meetings with important clients. LG Group Vice Chairman Koo Bon-joon will be making an appearance for the third straight year.

Park Sung-wook, chief executive of chipmaker SK Hynix, and Park Jung-ho, head of the country’s largest mobile operator SK Telecom Co., would also be attending.

CES has been drawing growing interest from the auto industry in recent years with the rising trend of IT convergence in manufacturing. Hyundai Motor Co. is reportedly sending Yang Woong-cheol, vice chairman of the company’s R&D division, and Chung Eui-sun, vice chairman and heir apparent to the world’s fifth largest automaker.
