Samsung Electronics Co. will debut ‘CJ791’ QLED monitor, the latest edition of its premium quantum-dot displays, at the CES 2018, the world’s largest consumer electronics and technology tradeshow coming up in Las Vegas, the U.S. next week, the company said Wednesday.

Its new 34-inch curved QLED monitor CJ791 comes with a 21:9 aspect ratio and offers 3440×1440 ultra-wide Quad high-definition (QHD) resolution to deliver 2.5 times better definition than standard full HD displays, to allow its users to manage multiple tasks efficiently as well as process images better for high-definition graphic needs.

The monitor features a 1,500R curvature, ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle, and 4 milliseconds response time, making it ideal for both graphic professionals and video game enthusiasts.

Moreover, the new monitor is fitted with Intel Corp.’s Thunderbolt 3 cable that provides data processing speed of up to 40 gigabits per second (Gbps) or nearly four times faster than standard USB cables when linked to peripheral devices such as laptops and storage devices. The cable is also compatible with USB Type-C connectors, allowing its user to simultaneously process images and charge laptops or other electronics devices with up to 85 watts of charging power.

“The CJ791 aligns Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with our best-in-class curvature and QLED picture quality to captivate and engage users, while also promoting improved organization and productivity,” said Kim Seog-gi, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “As the pioneer of the curved monitor industry, Samsung continues to seek new ways to refine our displays and exceed consumers’ expectations on heightened performance and presentation,” Kim said.
