Asiana Airlines inks codeshare agreement with Croatia Airlines

South Korea’s second largest full-service carrier Asiana Airlines Inc. signed a codeshare agreement with Croatia Airlines Ltd., allowing passengers easier and cheaper access to cities across the country which is being rediscovered by Koreans as exotic European destination.

With the agreement, passengers of Asiana Airlines would have better access to some of the popular tourist destinations of Croatia including Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split by using routes run by Croatia Airlines at transit spots including London, Paris and Frankfurt.

The Korean carrier flies routes connecting Incheon to London and Frankfurt, once a day, and to Paris five times a week. Croatia Airlines, the Croatian flag carrier founded in 1989, operates regular flights to 39 destinations in 24 European countries. In 2004, it joined Star Alliance in which Asiana Airlines participates as a member.

An official from Asiana Airlines said that the agreement would help it strengthen its network and sales in Croatia and Eastern Europe.
