South Korea’s Korea Technology Finance Corp. (KOTEC) Wednesday joined forces with leading game publishers Neptune, Bluehole, NHN Entertainment, Joycity and Kakao Games to groom startups in the industry.
Under their partnership agreement, the five top players will hunt out startups and recommend them for loan guarantees by the state entity KOTEC. The state institution will guarantee loans of up to 100 billion won ($92.5 million) plus loan and consulting arrangements.
Korea’ gaming industry is worth 11 trillion won, fifth largest in the world.
