SK Innovation Co. is inviting creative business ideas to merge onto 3,600 SK Energy gas stations around Korea as a part of the country’s fifth conglomerate’s broad program to share its assets with the public.
SK Innovation announced on Thursday that it has launched a project to share all of the tangible assets including gas pumps and car wash facilities as well as intangible assets like business models, marketing and management strategies.
It will open a contest until January 30 in search of creative ideas to add value or business to gas station buildings and sites that are usually spacious.
It will select eight winning ideas and business models. Student winners will have preferential points if they apply for hiring at SK Innovation.
The project is based on the group’s resource sharing campaign that the group chairman Chey Tae-won has stressed over the past few months for social responsibility practice.
The campaign aims to create both economic and social value by sharing the group’s tangible and intangible assets with its partners, startups and social enterprises.
