Handsome Co., the fashion unit of South Korea’s major retailer Hyundai Department Store Group, is accelerating its move into the vast Chinese consumer market.

The company said on Friday its fashion label The Cashmere signed an agreement with ImagineX Group - a Hong Kong-based retail, brand management and distribution firm - to supply five coat models to Club Monaco outlets in China.

ImagineX represents some of the world’s leading fashion and beauty names, including Salvatore Ferragamo, DKNY and Jo Malone. It operates more than 250 points of sale throughout Asia, from China and Taiwan to Singapore and Southeast Asia.

System and System Homme are among Handsome’s most active brands to take their businesses abroad. They recently clinched a deal with Artifacts, a popular curated boutique store in Taiwan that operates six stores in major shopping districts of Taipei and Taichung. Earlier this year, the two clothing labels were picked up by well-known department stores and shopping malls in China and the Galeries Lafayette department store in Paris.

Handsome entered the Chinese market early this year by partnering with Hangzhou Zhiheng Industrial Co. and has since stepped up efforts to increase contact points with local customers.

Founded in 1987, Handsome was bought by Hyundai Home Shopping Network in 2012 and owns a string of fashion labels including Time, Mine and System.
