Paru launches solar tracker for farmers in S. Korea

Paru, a solar PV energy and printed electronics company in South Korea, said on Monday it has launched a solar tracker, a device that orients solar panels toward the sun, to allow farmers to profit from energy production in addition to crop cultivation on their farm.

At 2:20 pm, Paru shares gained 0.89 percent to trade at 4,510 won.

A high-sensitivity sensor on the dual axis solar tracker moves the panel both vertically and horizontally to follow the movement of the sun to maximize daily power generation regardless of the weather conditions. Compared to a fixed solar panel, the tracking PV system is over 30 percent more efficient in power generation, the company explained.

The system was already exported to Japan, helping farmers reap benefits from power generation in addition to crop farming, the company said.
