South Korea’s industrial plant constructor SC Engineering Corp. has clinched a 36.9 billion won ($33.6 million) worth deal to supply equipment to a power plant in Thailand with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co.

SC Engineering said on Tuesday it signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to supply heat recovery steam generators for a combined heat and power plant in Rayong, Thailand, which is home to the country’s largest industrial complex. Singapore-based developer Nexif Energy is leading the whole construction of the plant that uses natural gas to generate 110-megawatts power.

To earn the order, SC Engineering has partnered with its bigger Korean rival Doosan Heavy that will be responsible for building and supplying other main equipment and facilities for the power plant.

Following the latest order, SC Engineering plans to aggressively seek more opportunities in the global power plant market and EPC market, the company said.

SC Engineering has won more than 90 billion won orders in the second half of this year so far and is expected to sign additional contracts worth about 60 billion won before the end of the year.

Shares of SC Engineering Tuesday closed 1.15 percent down at 3,855 won from the previous session.
