Samsung Electronics launched its tablet, the Galaxy Tab A, in its home Korean market on Thursday with its self-developed artificial intelligence-enabled home screen control (Bixby Home) and date reminder functions (Bixby Reminder).
It has a 203.1 mm display with 8.9 mm in thickness and about 360 grams in weight, sporting an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front with an F1.9 aperture lens for sharp and bright photos.
The new gadget also features a floating camera button which can be moved freely on the screen and a home mode function that can show time, calendar and weather information even during battery charging, according to the company. Other functions include Smart View that simplifies displaying the tablet’s screen on a TV and Game Launcher designed to improve mobile gaming.
The LTE version Galaxy Tab A is now available via all three mobile carriers in Korea for 308,000 won ($279), and the Wi-Fi version is due on Nov. 24 for 264,000 won.
