Samsung Electronics said it sold over 1 million units in Galaxy Note 8 phablet in Korea in less than two months, suggesting resurgence of the model whose predecessor had to be recalled and discontinued due to safety issues.

Since it received pre-orders on Sept. 15, the company sold 1 million devices in Korea as of Nov. 1 The latest tablet-cum-phone has maintained its place as the best-selling smartphone in the country after its launch, according to the company on Tuesday.

Samsung Electronics also said it has decided to add Maple Gold as a new color to its flagship Galaxy Note 8 lineup in a response to Apple’s iPhone 8 to be released in Korea on Nov. 3. The new color model comes with 64GB storage with the same price tag of 1,094,500 won (about $980) as other color models.

Market watchers say the new models will help bring vitality to the Korean smartphone market where the release of new flagship models became scarce.
