Mercedes-Benz retained its top position in the Korean imported car market for five consecutive months in October while BMW 520d kept the lead as the best-selling model for three months in a row. Honda Accord emerged as the second best-seller.

According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA) on Monday, a total of 16,833 imported vehicles were sold last month. It was down by 16.8 percent from the previous month and 18.3 percent from a year-ago period as sales were disrupted by the country`s long Chuseok holiday that fell in early October, an official from the KAIDA said. This year’s Chuseok holiday that included two separate national holidays, two weekends and one temporary off day was exceptionally long, lasting 10 days.
