The U.S. healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson announced on Monday the opening of a partnering office at Seoul Bio Hub to support emerging bio startups in South Korea.
Seoul Bio Hub is an incubation center located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul that helps bio startups, universities and research institutes interact with science and business experts. Backed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, it aims to become a bio cluster that provides customized assistance to startups and help them commercialize their products.
The partnering office was formed in partnership with Johnson & Johnson Innovation and Asia Pacific Innovation Center, its units focused on early-stage innovation; Janssen Korea, its pharmaceutical arm; and Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices.
“It is an honor to open our first partnering office in Korea at Seoul Bio Hub,” said Dong Wu, head of the Asia Pacific Innovation Center at Johnson & Johnson. “We hope to support and nurture a strong biotech industry through this office.”
