South Korea’s largest telecom service provider SK Telecom Co. launched a new mobile phone plan ‘T Global’ series and mobile application exclusive for non-Korean residents in Korea, the company said on Wednesday.

T Global service with additional monthly payment of 3,300 won ($2.93) on existing mobile plan offers its subscribers additional benefits such as greater data allowance - between 300 megabytes and 1.5 gigabytes of additional data by plan type and free international calls of between 10 to 90 minutes per month to 20 different countries including China and Vietnam.

Also, if the subscriber makes international remittance via KEB Hana Bank’s ‘1Q Transfer’ mobile app, she or he can wire money for free once. But the user of the free international remittance chance would not be applicable for free additional local calls of between 50 and 300 minutes.

Any foreigner living in Korea can subscribe to SK Telecom’s T Global series mobile plan if the person has stayed in the country for 90 days or longer and has an alien registration card. Also, temporary visa holders like international students and migrant workers with E-9 visa can purchase a new mobile phone with a 500,000 won ceiling and up to 12 months of installment option.

In addition, the company released a new mobile app ‘T World Global’ for foreigners. The app is available in six different languages - Korea, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Cambodian - and users can check call and data usage in real time. Anyone can sign up for the app with mobile phone number and passport information.
