Netmarble’s Lineage 2 Revolution hit 1 mn pre-orders in N. America, Europe

Lineage 2 Revolution, multiplayer role-playing game developed by South Korea’s top game company Netmarble Games Corp., has marked a successful start in Europe and North America with pre-orders topping 1 million in just a month.

Netmarble Games said on Friday that it has received more than 1 million pre-orders for Lineage 2 Revolution in Europe and North America in a month. It began taking pre-orders of the new mobile game on September 13 prior to its official release in the regions slated for the fourth quarter this year.

At 2:45 p.m. on Friday, shares of Netmarble Games were up 8.05 percent at 161,500 won ($142.97).

Lineage 2 Revolution has taken 1 million pre-orders in the shortest time among the company’s mobile games debuted in North America, according to the company. The record looks even more impressive when comparing with what it has achieved in Japan. It took nearly 90 days for the title to receive 1 million pre-orders in Japan.

The Korean mobile game tycoon plans to showcase Lineage 2 Revolution for North American game players at the TwitchCon 2017 trade show coming up in California, the U.S. from October 20 to 22.

Prior to the new game’s release in North America and Europe, the company launched Lineage 2 Revolution in 11 Asian countries in June and Japan in August. Lineage 2 Revolution became Google Play Store’s best-selling mobile game app in six markets just eight days after it hit the Asian markets and 18 hours in the Japanese mobile game app market.

Netmarble Games plans to roll out Lineage 2 Revolution in 54 additional countries by the end of this year.
