The 16th World Korean Business Convention, a platform for South Korean entrepreneurs and business professionals at home and overseas to broaden business networks, will kick off on October 25 in Changwon, port city on the southeastern coast of Korea.

This year’s World Korean Business Convention is hosted by Overseas Korean Foundation and organized by Changwon provincial government, Maeil Business Newspaper and MBN. The event will be held for three days at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center.

The theme for this year’s convention is “The better Hansang, For better Korea,” and it is expected to bring together about 3,500 Korean business professionals who are actively leading businesses in Korea and overseas.

The event will offer various programs such as industrial exhibition, one-on-one business meetings, and seminars as well as a job fair for Koreans who would like to seek for opportunities at Korean-led companies across the world.

Also, former United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon as well renowned business leaders, including LG Electronics Vice Chairman Jo Seong-jin and Kakao Chief Executive Officer Lim Ji-hoon, will be delivering special lectures. Jo is considered one of Korea’s most successful leaders after he has climbed up to the top management position from low entry-level job with a high school diploma only, and Lim was recently picked as Korea’s top CEO in a survey of 500 college students nationwide.
