Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea`s top automaker, said Wednesday that it has signed a contract to export 500 units of Xcient, its heavy-duty trucks, worth 50 billion won ($44.3 million) to Indonesia, which is the single largest deal in the carmaker’s truck business.

Most of the trucks will be used at landfill construction sites in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

Hyundai Motor plans to begin shipping the trucks in December and complete the delivery by the end of June next year. High-quality tailored trucks will be provided to Indonesia to endure tough road conditions, the carmaker said.

The massive contract will give Hyundai Motor a momentum to tap into the country’s commercial vehicle market dominated by Japanese commercial vehicle brands.

Following its milestone contract to export 500 large buses to Turkmenistan last year, Hyundai Motor continued to win contracts this year in the supply of commercial vehicles worldwide, including 200 mid-sized buses to Myanmar, 200 medium and heavy-duty trucks to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 160 medium-duty trucks to a Saudi Arabian company, 100 buses to a Moroccan company and 100 trucks to the transportation department of Turkmenistan.
