IBM’s artificial intelligence system Watson has stretched to the corporate market in Korea, following its successful applications for patient diagnosis at several hospitals.

SK Holdings C&C, the information technology services unit of SK Group, said Wednesday it has officially launched Aibril, a Korean version enterprise service development platform based on Watson.

During a press conference, SK Holdings C&C which has teamed up with the U.S. tech giant for the local version, released eight Korean language APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), which are core program elements of the service. The released APIs deal with tasks of dialog, understanding of natural language, classification of natural language, search and evaluation, document conversion, language translation, image recognition and behavior analysis.

Corporate users can sign up for the service at the service portal (www.aibril.com ) where they can select APIs for their desired service. Data can be copied into target APIs or files can be uploaded as they are.

SK Holdings C&C also introduced a general-purpose chatbot framework based on Watson’s Korean language API. Users can link their business data to the chatbot service on the framework. The Korean company aims to release additional APIs for an automatic speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion.

The latest service will bring more competition to the Korean AI-based platform market where LG CNS recently debuted DAP, a multi-cloud-based AI big data platform and Samsung SDS is responding with Brity, an enterprise interactive AI platform.
