Samsung Electronics to unveil new cordless vacuum at IFA 2017

Samsung Electronics Co. will showcase new cordless vacuum ‘POWERstick PRO’ at the Europe’s largest electronics exhibition IFA 2017 which will kick off in Berlin, Germany on Sept 1, the company said on Monday.

POWERstick PRO is the Korean tech giant’s first high-end cordless vacuum that boasts the industry’s best suction power of 150 watts, according to the company. The vacuum cleaner is powered by inverter motor, which the company claims to spin faster than a tornado, ensures thorough cleaning experience on all floor types.

Also, it is consisted of two brushes that spin at 5,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and move in opposite direction to capture both fine dust and large particles, making “one sweep is enough” for cleaning, said the company.

It runs on a 32.4V lithium-ion removable power pack that has up to 40 minutes of battery life.

Samsung Electronics is a latecomer in the cordless handheld cleaner market dominated by Dyson and LG Electronics.

The company designed vacuum’s handle to minimize strain on muscles and back. The handle folds up to 50 degrees, allowing users to reach under lower areas such as underneath a table or couch.

“We’re incredibly excited for consumers to experience a new level of cleaning and remain committed to providing innovation based on consumer needs,” said B.S. Suh, executive vice president of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics.
