Audio products of U.S.-based Harman International Industries will become exclusively available in Korea via Samsung Electronics appliance outlets from Tuesday as the Korean electronics giant completed acquisition of the U.S. company in March.
Harman audios had previously been sold in Korea via independent vendors of imports.
Harman is a market leader in vehicle components for connected cars but is more widely known to consumers as an audio brand with a history of over 70 years.
Three of Harman’s most popular brands - Harmon Kardon, JBL and AKG - would be immediately available in Samsung stores. Korean consumers would have greater access to a range of Harman models, including eight JBL speakers, five Harman Kardon speakers, 17 JBL earphones and headphones, six AKG earphones and headphones, and four soundbars.
Samsung Electronics will also provide warranty services from its wide network of repair centers throughout the country.
“We plan to deliver top-notch distribution, marketing and customer services so that more Korean consumers can purchase and enjoy Harman’s renowned audio products,” said an official from Samsung Electronics.
