Hyundai Motor Co. will operate a new integrated organization dedicated to its luxury brand Genesis in an effort to strengthen its position in the global luxury car market.
The South Korea’s largest carmaker said on Monday that the new Genesis division will be organized with four bureaus and seven teams by integrating Genesis representatives from marketing, sales and other divisions.
The decision comes about a year and a half after it set up the Genesis dedicated team to enhance the brand awareness and competitiveness. With the latest reorganization, the company aims to further deepen expertise in the independent brand, respond to market trends in the global luxury car business and better meet the high needs of customers.
The new organization will be headed by Manfred Fitzgerald, who has been in charge of establishing and executing strategies for the Genesis brand as senior vice president. He served as director of Lamborghini’s brand and design before joining Hyundai Motor.
The four bureaus are: Genesis Customer Experience for marketing and brand communication, Genesis Product for product strategy and planning, Genesis Brand Strategy for business planning and medium and long-term brand strategy, and Marketing to direct Customer Experience and Product bureaus.
Hyundai Motor is due to release the G70, a new mid-sized sedan equipped with cutting-edge technology and dynamic performance features in September.
Since Korea’s largest car maker launched its stand-alone luxury brand Genesis in 2015, the Genesis has rolled out the two models - G90 and G80 - under its brand. The brand set a target to deliver total six models by 2020.
