Korean LS Cable & System Ltd. said on Tuesday that it won a contract to provide extra-high voltage cables to Qatar`s state utility firm Kahramaa.
The deal worth 219.2 billion won ($195.5 million) is part of a 2.6 trillion won government infrastructure project aimed to build 77 transmission substations and 450 kilometer-long extra-high voltage cables for power supply.
Under the contract, LS Cable will provide more than 70 percent of the cables required in the project including the 132-kilovolt (kV) and 220kV kind as well as the high-end 400kV version.
The company said the largest-ever deal is big enough to cover 7.13 percent of its revenue last year.
LS Cable commands the largest share in the Middle East market on submarine and extra-high voltage cables.
