South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. has installed an ultra-large organic light-emitting diode (OLED) signage at a shopping mall in India, the first digital signage of its kind in the country.
The three-layer signage made with 70 units of 55-inch flexible OLED displays was installed at Ambience Mall in the city of Gurugram, southwest of New Delhi, said the company on Friday.
The two signs on top are shaped in the form of a round band to allow observation at all angles while the bottom sign is a curved video wall.
The signage is currently used to market the company’s high-end home appliance line LG SIGNATURE.
The Korean tech giant will also be building India’s first liquid crystal display (LCD) fabs as part of a move to seek new revenue source. It received the go-ahead from the Korean authority last month and is awaiting final approval from the Indian state government.
