South Korean food giant CJ CheilJedang said on Tuesday it will invest 70 billion won ($62.7 million) to build an integrated food production site in Vietnam.

The new plant will be erected on 66,000 square meters of land inside the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park in Nha Be District by July of next year.

It would be the company’s first integrated food plant to cover a wide range of products from chilled to frozen food, rolling out up to 60,000 tons of products a year, the company said.

Key products would include Bibigo brand dumplings, kimchi, home meal replacements, frozen food and meat processed products. The plant’s R&D center will develop new market-specific products by fusing Korean food with local flavors.

CJ CheilJedang aims to generate 700 billion won in food business sales from Vietnam by 2020.

CJ CheilJedang acquired Vietnamese kimchi distributor Kim&Kim and frozen food service company Cau Tre last year. In March of this year, the Korean company acquired fish and meat processor Minh Dat Food to expand its footing in the country’s food market.
