Samsung Electronics Co. launched a special edition TV for Chinese soccer fans with Suning Commerce Group, China’s largest consumer electronics retailer and largest shareholder of Italian soccer club Inter Milan.

The Korean electronics giant held a lavish launching event for the so-called Inter Milan TV at Suning’s branch in Nanjing, east of China on Saturday. The TV launching event, attended by Inter Milan’s star players including Eder and Borja Valero, was broadcasted live on China’s major TV network CTV across the country.

Samsung Electronics’ Inter Milan edition TV specially designed for Chinese soccer fans comes with Inter Milan logo-embedded TV remote and TV frame as well as special packaging imprinted with the soccer club’s label. It also offers an Inter Milan game replay function through Chinese video streaming service PPTV.

The special edition will be available through Samsung Electronics’ 56- and 65-inch curved UHD TV models at Suning’s retail outlets throughout China from August 14.

The launch of the Inter Milan edition TV comes as Samsung Electronics is going all out to take hold of the rapidly growing premium TV market in China, the world’s largest TV market. As part of its other efforts, it formed the so-called QLED TV alliance with China’s major TV manufacturers and retailers including TCL Corp., Hisense Co., and Suning Group earlier this year. The company also introduced another high-end TV model “The Frame” in China earlier this month.
