Samsung Elec reveals connected AV solutions with Harman

According to electronics industry sources on Friday, Samsung Electronics together with Harman introduced fully-integrated, upgraded audio and visual solutions at international audio-visual tradeshow InfoComm 2017 held in Florida, the U.S. in mid-June. One of them was a connected room solution that combines Samsung Electronics’ motion sensors, drape controls, and thermostats with Harman’s voice-activated room solution.
The two companies also collaborated in multimedia by combining Samsung’s light-emitting diode (LED) screen with Harman’s JBL speakers and Lexicon immersion processor. The cinema solution will be commercialized in July.
“Samsung’s visual display technologies with Harman’s audio, lighting and control solutions can create an engaging, multi-sensory experience in entertainment, transportation, retail, hospitality, corporate, education and government environments, among others,” said Samsung Electronics.
Harman performance will be fully reflected in income statement of Samsung Electronics from the second quarter. The Korean electronics maker completed the buyout process on March 11.
