TheVentures Co., a South Korean investment firm focusing on early-stage startups, said on Tuesday that it invested 7.7 billion won ($5.78 million) in 50 companies in 2023, or a 20 percent increase in investment size compared to the previous year.
“We had 2,640 hours of meetings in 2023. Despite the challenging environment for early-stage companies in the first quarter of 2024, much like the previous year, we will meet more companies and increase our investments during these tough times,” TheVentures CEO Kim Cheol-woo said.
Founded in 2014 as an accelerator, TheVentures obtained a venture capital business license in June 2020. The company has since invested in a total of 259 domestic and international startups.
