Samsung SDS Co., an information technology solutions unit of South Korea’s largest conglomerate Samsung Group, unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI)-based data analysis platform for enterprises with an aim to release it later this month.

The company on Wednesday showcased the new data solution that uses an AI algorithm to analyze big data. It expects the new tool to help companies speed up their decision making process in various industries such as manufacturing, marketing, and logistics.

Samsung SDS’s integrated analysis platform for enterprises, dubbed as Brightics AI, offers businesses optimum options and plans by analyzing bulk data based on a set AI-analyzed model, according to the company. For example, when the platform is applied to the manufacturing sector, big data is analyzed by reviewing sales trends and taking into account different variables, and proposes shipment volume for next month and appropriate pricing.

The platform shortens the time to create an analysis model, which usually takes minimum three months for at least two experts to make. With Brightics AI, even a non-expert can come up with a model in just two hours as the platform automatically recommends an algorithm. After a model is created, the platform analyzes bulk data in 10 minutes - much faster than the previous three hours needed to collect, analyze, and visualize hundreds of millions of data. Brightics AI allows enterprises to write up a report based on the result of the analysis in just one click.

Yoon Shim, a Samsung SDS executive, said data analysis in the past was mostly of forecast and aggregate types based on statistics. Brightics AI, however, adds prescription algorithms to intelligent technology to recommend optimum plans for enterprises, allowing even a non-expert can analyze data.
