South Korea’s tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. on Monday launched the latest 75-inch edition of its premium quantum-dot technology based TV, or QLED TV, in Korea, accelerating its efforts to tap deeper into the growing premium TV market.

Samsung Electronics said on Monday that it began the sale of two models of 75-inch QLED TV - the flat-screen Q7 and the curved-screen Q8 - in the local market following the release of the models in the United States and Europe. The Q7 is priced at 10.4 million won ($9,276) and Q8, 11.9 million won.

Samsung Electronics’ QLED TV lineup that also includes 55-inch and 65-inch editions boasts high picture quality and strives to provide consumers with premium lifestyle experience, the company said. They apply metal quantum-dot technology which presents vivid color even when display brightness changes. The models are also certified as achieving 100 percent color volume.

According to the company, the QLED TV models come with an almost invisible 1.8 millimeter transparent optical fiber cable that helps organize messy TV lines. Also, they provide a more convenient use of smart TV with its single remote control that controls other devices connected to the display.

Kim Moon-soo, vice president of visual display at Samsung Electronics, expected the addition of the latest 75-inch model following the successful launch of the 55-inch and 65-inch editions would help the company further expand its presence in the world’s premium TV market.

Separately, Samsung Electronics introduced a terrestrial ultra high-definition (UHD) reception kit, two days ahead of the planned airing of the world’s first terrestrial UHD broadcasting on Wednesday. The kit, which costs 69,000 won, can be applied to Samsung Electronics’ UHD TV models released between 2013 and 2016.
