The chief executive of Deloitte Global, partner of South Korea’s second largest auditor Deloitte Anjin LLC that faces a temporary business suspension for colluding in the accounting fraud of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. (DSME) will be visiting Seoul this week to show confidence in partnership with Anjin.

According to accounting industry sources on Tuesday, Deloitte Global Chief Executive Officer Punit Renjen will visit Deloitte Anjin headquarters in Yeouido on Friday in a gesture symbolizing commitment to the Korean partner regardless of the scandal.

Deloitte Anjin will be banned from signing new contracts with listed companies and unlisted financial firms for a year as the Financial Services Commission confirmed its penalty finding on Wednesday.

Deloitte Global recently injected $20 million into Deloitte Anjin for legal and other expenses.

Deloitte Anjin CEO Ham Jong-ho would not run for the second term by taking responsibility for the DSME accounting affair.

Deloitte Anjin has 223 listed companies among the total 1,068 firms under contract, according to accounting industry sources. The business suspension could hurt the company by more than 30 billion won ($27 million).
