Samsung Electronics Co. launched a new line-up of premium built-in kitchen products under the brand Dacor that it had bought last year in New York on Thursday.

The new kitchen products dubbed “The Modernist Collection” encompass the entire kitchen appliance set from refrigerators, stoves, ovens, cooktops and dishwashers to microwave drawers and warming drawers of varying sizes, Samsung said in a statement. The collection is characterized by stainless steel materials with a graphite color, emphasizing both convenience and luxury aesthetics.

Samsung took over Dacor, the leading luxury built-in home appliance brand in the U.S., in September in hopes to leverage Dacor’s expertise to jump-start its upmarket home appliance business in the U.S. and to advance into the Business-to-business (B2B) industry such as housing construction market.

“The new lineup represents the combination between Dacor’s 50 years of industry expertise and innovation and Samsung’s innovative technology. We are fully ready to continue innovation in the kitchen appliance market,” said David Nichols, vice president of products at Dacor.

Of note is a built-in refrigerator and freezer system that comes with various widths, from 18 inches to 36 inches. Other products include a stove which has settings for steam baking and steam roasting, and an induction cooktop that sports a “virtual flame” to provide a visual cue for the burner.

“Samsung and Dacor share the philosophy of providing premium value to consumers through innovation. The Modernist Collection showcases the first outcome of synergy between the two companies,” said Yoon Boo-keun, head of Samsung’s consumer electronics division while introducing “The Modernist Collection” in an event to launch Dacor’s new line-up of luxury kitchen products in New York on Mar. 15 (local time).

Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife emceed the event, with kitchen designers and architects explaining the new products’ features.
