Models experience Samsung Electronics’ Gear VR at the company’s booth for the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona on Sunday.
South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Book combining the features of a tablet PC and a laptop at an official press conference during the Mobile World Congress held in Spain on Sunday.
The tech giant which used to present its next flagship smarphone at the MWC, delayed the launch of its new Galaxy S8 smartphone due to debacle of the Galaxy Note7 whose production was discontinued for battery defect last year.
The company aims to expand its presence in the premium tablet PC market with the launch of the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book series, the company said.
Samsung Electronics has first filed for a trademark for Galaxy Book back in 2012 but withheld its commercial release. Galaxy Book, a new version of Galaxy Tab Pro 2, runs Microsoft`s Windows 10 operating system. It can be used like laptops as they come with ‘S Pen’ and a keyboard.
It also showcased the Gear VR with Controller which features an accelerometer and gyro sensor to deliver smooth virtual reality experience.
