Shinsung Solar Energy to ship 107 MW solar modules to China

Shinsung Solar Energy Co., mid-sized solar energy firm in Korea, said Monday that it struck a deal to provide 107 megawatts (MWs) of photovoltaic (PV) modules to China’s Jinko Solar Technology Ltd. starting Monday until Dec. 30, 2017.

Jinko Solar is one of the leading players in the world’s solar industry with an annual production capacity of 6.5 gigawatts (GWs) in solar modules.

Shinsung Solar Energy won orders from Canadian Solar International Ltd. monthly in the last quarter of 2016 to supply solar batteries.

The company would have to run its factories at full capacity as the latest order to the Chinese company would make up half of its module-making capacity.

Its PV batteries are mostly shipped to the U.S., Canada and China, PV modules to Japan and Europe.
