Cheil Worldwide Inc.’s electronics repair service campaign video created for its affiliate Samsung Electronics Inc. is getting overwhelming responses from India, recording over 84 million views on global video portal site Youtube in just 40 days of releasing the online advertisement.

According to the South Korean creative agency on Wednesday, its online commercial “We will take care of you wherever you are” received over 84 million hits on Youtube, recording all-time high views on online campaigns ever launched in India. It expects the figure to surpass 100 million views milestone sometime this month as daily views on the video ad has stayed above 1 million. Among thousands of video ads created annually across the world, there are only three or four campaigns that earn over 100 million views on Youtube, the company said.

The four-minute online narrates a journey of Samsung Electronics’ service engineer on a call to repair TV for a client in a remote mountainous region, overcoming many nature’s obstacles. To the service engineer’s surprise, the repair request was made by visually impaired teacher and her students from a school for blind children waiting to have the TV fixed to listen to a fellow student singing in televised singing contest. When TV is repaired and the room is filled with song sung by their friend, everyone dances happily to the song.

The commercial clip was created in October last year for Samsung Electronics’ after-sales service campaign launched in India. The electronics maker introduced the new service by adding 535 service vans that will provide after-sales service calls to Samsung Electronics customers who live in remote areas and have trouble accessing its 3,000 service centers located across India.

Cheil’s commercial video was picked as the “Ad of the Day” by America’s advertising news outlet Ad Week last month.
