Daewoo Engineering & Construction (E&C) Co. announced on Thursday it has sealed a deal to build an E-ring expressway worth $590 million in Qatar on Wednesday local time.
Under the exclusive contract signed with Qatar Public Works Authority, the Korean builder will widen the existing four-lane highway of 4.5 kilometers in southern Doha to eight and 14 lanes and add a 4-kilometer road and build three multilevel intersections.
Construction will begin next Wednesday and last for 42 months.
The Middle East country is on the cusp of building new roads, railways and other critical infrastructure ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
